The EZTIRM Satellite and Satellite (SL) now trim WET and DRY at no additional cost! With its superior adjustability, combination of vortex and rotor technologies, the Satellite guarantees unsurpassed trim quality regardless of the strain. The Satellite’s patented triple filtration system will also separate and triple filter your leaf for processing, providing you greater yields without the mess. The Satellite is proudly made in the USA and comes with a one-year warranty.
How it works:
Operation– Your product enters the Satellite through the lid on top. Directly below the grate is the cutting blade and below that is a fan blade. The fan blade generates both suction and an air vortex. The vortex, in combination with the thin, silicon, rotor fingers gently move and roll the product along the grate without any tearing or damage to the flowers. As the flowers pass over the grate, the suction pulls the leaves into the spinning blade trimming and depositing the leaves into the filtration system below. Once you determine the flower is sufficiently trimmed (30 seconds to 1.5 minutes), you lift the chute gate and the product exits into the chute assembly on the front of the machine.
Elements of Control:
Blade Speed / Airflow – There are three settings for the speed of the blade: low, medium and high. Increasing the speed of the blade will also increase the airflow (suction and vortex). The airflow can then further be adjusted by opening and closing the lids/vents on top of the machine. With the lid(s) open, there is more suction pulling the leaves through the grate. With the lids closed, there is more vortex moving the product around the drum. Based on the density or leafiness of the flowers and the variances between strains, you will find different blade speeds and/or lid positions are more effective in one instance over another.
Rotor – The rotor contains 4 sets of soft, flexible, ¼ inch, food-grade silicon fingers that assist in the movement of the product over the grate. It is mounted to a variable speed/reversible motor that allows you to adjust the rotor speed to match the desired airflow.
Blade Adjustment – The depth of the blade can be adjusted on-the-fly to accommodate different strains. Simply adjust the four knobs at the base of the motor mount for the trim setting you desire.
Cycle Time – The patented combination of vortex and rotor technologies gets the job done quickly delivering cycle times as low as 30 seconds. Shorter cycle times equals less damage to your product.
Unlike the other commercial trimmers on the market, the Satellite provides complete control over the amount of time your flowers are inside the machine. We recommend running smaller batches (2-3 handfuls) for shorter periods of time to reduce any potential for damage. Using this method, you will trim greater volumes in a shorter period of time while generating better results and the machine will stay cleaner longer – requiring less maintenance and downtime.
Triple Filtration System – The Satellite’s triple filtration system consists of 3 separate bags each with a different micron count. Through the process of trimming the leaf (especially very frosty leaf) many of the trichomes become dislodged from the leaf fragments. In conjunction with generating air flow and suction, the fan blade also agitates and disperses these free trichomes (kief) and leaf fragments, separating the various sized particles into the filtration bags. As you trim, the innermost bag with the largest micron count captures the larger leaf fragments. The middle bag catches the smaller leaf particulate and the outer bag captures the majority of the loose kief dislodged from the trimmed leaf. After several hours of trimming, there is nothing but nearly pure, fine kief in the outer bag. You can then take these three grades of byproduct and further process them as you so desire.
Dry Sifting – There will still be a significant amount of trichomes on and amongst the trimmings in the innermost and middle filtration bags, one method for harvesting the rest of the trichomes is a process called dry sifting. Once your leaf has dried for a few days (be sure to spread it out nice and thin so that it does not mold), it can be manually sifted back through the system. This is also true of the product in the outer most bag. When the trichomes are wet they will not pass through the outer bag, but when dried they can be filtered through the outer bag to produce and even finer grade of kief.
The dry sifting method is shown in detail in the Satellite’s demo video.
Yes! WIth the new dry trim insert, the Satellite effortlessly switches back and forth between a wet trimmer and a dry trimmer. To convert your Satellite to a dry trimmer, simply remove the lid, place the dry trimming insert over the wet trimming grate and fasten the lid back onto the Satellite. Once the Satellite is turned on, the suction from the fan blade will lock the dry trimming insert into place. To learn more about trimming dry with the Satellite, please watch our dry trimming instructional video.

It is virtually impossible to give a pounds/hr. ratio to any commercial bud or leaf trimmer due to the variances of strain, density, quality, work ethic, etc. The best way to estimate how much product you can put through the unit is by percentage of time saved. The Satellite will save you about 80% against hand trimming and it generally takes 5 to 7 people with good work ethic to keep it running without down time.
If each of your 5 workers trimmed an average of a pound a day, those same 5 workers would trim around 25 lbs. with the Satellite.
In short, no. If you follow our system and guidelines for using the Satellite you will see near hand trim quality. We have spent many hours perfecting the dynamics of the way the machine works to ensure you get the best trim possible. That is not to say that you may not have any touch up, but we guarantee that if you follow the system you will see an 80% time savings and your clients will not be able to tell the difference. Much of the damage that people equate with commercial or wet trimming actually occurs in the handling during the drying and curing process.
No. We have developed a patented no-loss catchment and filtration system that will collect your undamaged leaf clippings while filtering them for further processing (see here). You will however want to be sure to thinly and evenly spread the trimmed leaf out in a dry area with plenty of ventilation so that it does not develop any mold while drying out.
Please refer to our instructional video for step-by-step instructions on how to clean the Satellite.
For optimum efficiency, we recommend you operate the Satellite with at least a 5-person crew. One person will operate the machine and make the necessary adjustments for various strains while 3-4 people prep the flowers. The remaining person works as a “floater” bringing the plants in from the flower room (or outside), delivers the trimmed buds from the Satellite to the drying rack and helps with prep in his/her free time. Utilizing this system will ensure the Satellite is never sitting idle and you are using your trim time and labor as efficiently as possible.
The assembled dimensions of the Satellite with the tray tables out are 48” high, 64” wide and 29” deep. The dimensions of the transportation case are 27” high with a 27” diameter. The Satellite only weighs 105 pounds including the transportation case and can easily be transported by one person.
Not at this time. To run the Satellite on either of these power systems you will need to use a power converter.
Yes, the blade can easily be sharpened with either 320 or 400 grit sandpaper and a sanding block. For detailed instructions, check out our instructional video below.
Combination of Vortex and Rotor Technologies - The Satellite and Drone trimmers are the only trimmers on the market to use our patented combination of air vortex and rotor fingers to move the product along the cutting surface. This allows airflow to be the primary source of product movement while the soft silicone fingers help to even disperse and gently roll the product along the cutting slots.
Cutting Surface - This design allows the Satellite to make full use of every cutting slot over the entire surface of the grate, minimizing cycle times and giving you greater throughput than any other trimmer can offer. Tunnel trimmers only trim along the single line where the blade makes contact with the cylinder while mostly tumbling, tearing, and rounding the flowers into golf ball like shapes.
Grate Design - The scalloped (or coved) slots in the grate not only aid the rolling process and allow the flower to drop in tighter to the blade for as close a trim as possible, they protect the flower from being damaged, most specifically the tearing often associated with commercial trimmers. All the other commercial trimmers on the market have hard edged slots that tear at the flowers creating damage and causing a loss of both quality and esthetics.
Control – The ability to adjust the cutting depth on the fly as well as controlling the blade speed, airflow dynamics, and cycle times allows you to customize your trim based on strain, quality, and preference. No other bud trimmer on the market has anything that comes close.
Trim Quality – Not only does the aforementioned provide you will the best flower trim of any machine on the market, it also provides you with the best trimmed leaf by-product as well, and deposits and filters it in our patented no-loss catchment and filtration system. Most trimmers leave valuable product all over your floor, or in the case of tunnel trimmers suck it into a dust collection system that pulverizes and squeezes all the chlorophyll from the leaf, rendering it almost useless.
Triple Filtration – Our patented catchment and filtration systems ensures all your trimmed leaf and trichomes are captured, undamaged, and ready for further processing. When processing flowers with especially frosty leaf, the trichomes (kief) are often dislodged or agitated free from the leaf clippings, which in most machines is lost to the floor or collected and contaminated in a dust collection unit. Our filtration system captures the kief and filters it to the outer catchment bag, providing you with a bag of pure kief at the end of your harvest.
Rolling Work Station – The stand for the Satellite doubles as its own rolling work station with fold out tables on either side. It seems a small thing, but it is the little conveniences that help to improve efficiency dramatically.
Light weight and Portable – The Satellite comes standard with its own light weight, water and fire resistant, travel case and only weighs 105lbs packed away.
Noise - The Satellite is the quietest commercial trimmer you will find. There is a certain amount of white noise, similar to what you would find with a larger portable floor fan; that is why we added the Kicker speakers. We all love our music, and this way the person running the unit can enjoy the music along with everyone else in the trimming area.
